OUR PASTOR

Reverend Gary G. Johnson, Sr. was born and raised in East Baltimore alongside five brothers and one sister. He was called to the ministry at the age of 16 and received his early Christian training at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Leonard Hicks where he served as an Altar Aide and Chairman of the Junior Deacon Board.

 

In January 1987, Reverend Johnson joined the Shiloh Christian Community Church where he became a faithful and diligent member of the Ministerial Staff, serving as the Youth Minister.

 

In 1994 he joined Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church where he served as Director of Evangelism, taught Youth Bible Study, counseled when needed.

 

Reverend Gary G. Johnson, Sr. is the Founder and Pastor of Faith Christian Worship Center located at 700 N. Pulaski Street in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been preaching for thirty-eight years and pastoring for twenty-four years and it still feels like a honeymoon.

 

God has truly blessed Pastor Johnson in many ways. The support of a loving wife, Naomi and four beautiful children, Maci, Aliria, Alesha, and finally a son, Gary G. Johnson, Jr. are what sustains him each day. Family is important to Pastor Johnson. He is a graduate of Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and in May of 2017 he received his Master’s in Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

 

If you ask Pastor Johnson what his mission is, he’ll tell you simply “To win the whole world to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!”
